As from about an hour ago, when we try to log into Myspace it reconnects to Facebook. Is this a fault at Myspace? Or have we picked up something nasty?? Ideas & solutions most welcome!

check the URL...i can connect to my space...not "re-connected"
in fact these social networks are somewhat of "competitors"
so i do not think there would be connections..

There does seem to be a problem.

I have just logged into my Myspace account.

When I clicked on Profile, it came up no problem. Then a few seconds later it took me to a website that I cannot seem to get rid of.

I have tried a number of times and the same result.

I have even tried closing the PC and coming back in, but the same problem.

You can see what I get by going to this link and opening the attachment (Its safe, its just a printscreen of what I am getting).

Phishing scam that's universal to all MySpace Music. Just click on the 'stop page loading' little cross at top of browser to stop being redirected to the unwanted page.

It seems to be a phishing scam, definitely not a virus anyway.
Like I said, just stop the page loading with the X at top of browser.

Funnily enough, it has corrected itself, so it must have been somebody trying to sabotage Myspace.

I went to check another's Myspace profile, and it soon went to the Facebook sign-in page.

There are lots of descriptions of similar events on the internet, very little in the way of solutions. There are quite a few things that could be redirecting you including your browser, internet security software, proxy on your computer, router, ISP's hardware, ISP's proxy. myspace.com's web server, the page you are accessing at myspace.com.

The only solution appearing on the internet is setting the router back to factory settings. If that works it is really wierd and implies someone has hacked the router.

When does the problem occur.

1. Does the problem occur when you visit www.myspace.com
2. Does the problem occur moment you login
3. Does the problem occur when you arrive at a specific persons space
4. Does the problem occurs if you visit my space http://www.myspace.com/simongoodfellow

I would suspect hacked myspace pages, in which case 1 and 4 would be no and 2 and 3 would be yes. If that is the case and you are using Firefox try the addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/11787 to stop redirects.

Walkabouts - that's exactly what just happened to me tonight! went to check someone else's page and got directed to Facebook. But I don't get directed from my own page...

So it obviously can't be our own computers - must be a Myspace hack-in, right?

Oh, I just retried, and now it's not happening...

Yes I think Myspace has been hacked. Its alright now and I didn't do anything to correct things.
