Can anyone help me identify the instrument played by this excellent musician in the opening parts of Sufi Soul (which is a great documentary by the way)

I *think* it's an ektara, as in this video, but I am happy to be corrected if anyone knows better.

I believe Sain Zahoor is playing a three stringed ektara called a thumbi in this clip. He's brilliant. Thank's for posting this. Must see the documentary.
