Subject: RE: Hardraw Christmas gathering 2009 From: Soldier boy Date: 19 Nov 09 - 07:38 PM I'm not sure about dressing up dozy rozy. It's a difficult one at Christmas; how many baubles and angels and three wise men and donkeys and babies in nappies and stars and scrooges etc can you have? I'm strugelling to think of costume ideas so think that we should just turn up as we are and bring a barrel-full of Christmas spirit instead! Another possibility might be to dress up as your "Mudcat" alter-ego/title/persona/handel and try to dress up appropriately. Mine is easy but on second thoughts I think that others might struggle!! What do you think? |
Subject: RE: Hardraw Christmas gathering 2009 From: dozy rozy Date: 11 Nov 09 - 01:50 PM Thanks, Mick, firing on all cylinders again. Regarding the Christmas Gathering...there was talk of having a fancy dress theme for the Saturday. What does everyone else think? I might become a fairy for the night. No point trying to be an angel, I suppose. |
Subject: RE: Hardraw Christmas gathering 2009 From: Soldier boy Date: 10 Nov 09 - 06:23 PM Good man, Ossonflags; it would'nt be the same without you. |

Subject: RE: Hardraw Christmas gathering 2009 From: Soldier boy Date: 09 Nov 09 - 09:05 PM This sounds very good Dozy rozy. I thoroughly enjoyed the recent Halloween gathering at the Green Dragon Inn, Hardraw and I am sure that the Christmas gathering will be just as good, if not better. At the Halloween gathering all my favourite folkie friends turned up and we had such a brilliant time. We lifted the rafters with song and music and our hosts, Mark and Yvonne, did us proud. Will it be another fancy dress theme Dozy rozy like the Halloween do or is it just come as you are? The Green Dragon Inn provides camping out back for tents and campervans/caravans and also what they call "camping rooms" (not bunks!) in the Inn which are all en-suite and have double or twin beds with TV and tea/coffee making facilities - all for just £10 per person per night. If you are on your own it will still just cost you £10 per person per night for a room of your own. Just bring your own sleeping bag/towel/soap bag and the job's a good 'un! That's all you will need for a very comfortable night and at what I think is such good value for money. The whole weekend is a self-contained "happening" in this brilliant pub which serves a good range of hand-pulled real ales and it's a big rambling pub with rooms with real fires all over the place. Ideal for sessions with a singaround in one room and musicians having a good sesh in another room without interfering with each other. They also serve a very good range of food. What more can you ask for? The address for the Inn is: The Green Dragon Inn Hardraw, near Hawes North Yorkshire DL8 3LZ Or you can telephone Mark and Yvonne on : 01969 667392 to book accomodation/camping etc. Or check out their website on :www.greendragonhardraw.com Anyway, I've sold it enough; which is not actually needed because it sells itself, so come along to this gathering my friends and have a damn good time. See you there. Chris. xx |
