If you fancy a great night out at the ever entertaining Islington folk club, next Thursdays guest is Laura Victoria a cello singer. Laura sings a mixture of traditional and original material, accompanied by a fiddler Marc Weide.

'A voice and a cello. Songs of love affairs, shipwrecks, imaginary worlds, and cups of tea brought to life by unusual cello playing that veers between moving melancholy airs, punchy rock riffing and slap bass'.

Laura is attracting attention for her songwriting, live performance and fearlessly adventurous cello arrangements.
She has supported a diverse range of artists from The Portico Quartet to Eileen Rose and from Jon Allen to Dent May and His Magnificent Ukelele.

Expect the evening to stay true to the clubs own motto: 'from the fiercely traditional to the frankly eccentric!'
