Anyone here play the charango?

I understand the conventional charango tuning is (from low note to high):

G C E A E

(or variants of it down or up a tone)

Has anyone heard of a charango tuning of (low to high):

E G A C E

I was bought a charango, and an instruction book (in Spanish), from Peru. And even though I don't speak spanish, this seems to be the tuning it's recommending?! (It's displayed in the book on a stave, and in Do-Re-Mi form.) If it's a misprint it's a pretty serious, insane misprint, as I've never heard of it before. It's a cool tuning though, although I guess my charango might be about to explode.

Yes, thanks, I did look there. And I've googled. I'm aware of what the standard tuning is. I'm wondering if anyone can enlighten me as to this weird one.

Actually I've just found this website here:

http://pacoweb.net/Cuerdas/cuechara.htm

I'd be grateful if anyone who speaks Spanish could confirm that the little box on tunings, which mentions the "Mauro Nunez" system, means what I think it means. I think it might be the tuning I was after.
