Dearest Friends,

Kit & Cutter @ The Deptford Arms, 21st November, doors 8pm £5/£3 entry: Robin Gillan and Liz Green

Robin Gillan: http://www.myspace.com/robinjohngillan

We saw Robin Gillan at the Goose Is Out earlier in the year and sat enthralled as he effortlessly moved from traditional American to English material by way of guitar, fiddle, 5 string banjo, squeeze box, mandolin and mouth organ. One of the favourite acts we have caught live this year, we can't wait to have him at Kit & Cutter.

Liz Green: http://www.myspace.com/lizgreenmusic

Liz Green is part of London's nu-folk contingent and has drawn comparisons to "a female Devendra Barnhart", Edith Piaf and Nina Simone, it's pure pleasure to hear her versatile and expressive singing.

Into this already very attractive soup we intend to add a hearty seasoning of floor singers, plastic orchids, inexpensive drinks, shockingly good raffle prizes, and an *entire family* of Jews Harp Players.

Wrap up warm, get your gloves on, hats on heads, and we'll see you down there.

Love from

K&C x

I've known and jammed with Robin Gillan for years - he's a stunning player of many instruments, and his depth of understanding of the nuances Old Time fiddling and banjo playing is second to none in the UK. He's well worth seeing.

We also met him that night at the Goose is Out, and were very impressed. Also surprised, and he doesn't live far from us but we'd never seen him before. He turned up at our tunes session last Sunday!

Hi Katie and Helen (and Nygel and Sue) - glad to hear folk music is still alive and well in South London!

Anahata
