Subject: RE: Tech: AVG 9 version by Dec.1-download problem From: Stilly River Sage Date: 19 Nov 09 - 11:21 AM Are you saving it to the computer first and then installing it? I find that is the more stable approach to a new program. SRS |
Subject: RE: Tech: AVG 9 version by Dec.1-download problem From: Bernard Date: 19 Nov 09 - 11:18 AM Assuming you mean AVG free? I had no problems, apart from the usual one of finding the link for the download. They really don't want you to download the free version these days! Even when you go directly to the AVG Free site (http://free.avg.com - no link, so you can copy and paste, and it will take you to your country-specific page), you keep getting pestered to download the trial version of the paid software. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying for software... but if someone offers it for free... I have found (though I can't be sure it's AVG, IE8 or a combination of both) that after a while Outlook cannot connect to my email accounts. Closing Outlook and re-opening it makes it work again for a while. Well weird! |
Subject: RE: Tech: AVG 9 version by Dec.1-download problem From: catspaw49 Date: 19 Nov 09 - 11:14 AM Well I wish I could help but I downloaded last week without a hitch. Are you going to the CNET(?) or whatever alternate site? Sorry katmyluv but its funny because every other time I've downloaded AVG I had some sort of glitch to be worked out. This time was perfect! I guess its your turn in the barrel (l<)) Spaw |
Subject: Tech: AVG 9 version by Dec.1-download problem From: katlaughing Date: 19 Nov 09 - 11:03 AM Anyone else downloaded the new version of AVG? #9? I keep getting a popup to get it before Dec. 1st or else. Each time I have tried to download it, it has problems either establishing my internet connection which is an error as I am connected all of the time even while it is trying to do so OR it fails in downloading all of the files after it gets almost to the "finish" line. I've tried disabling my current avg, firewall, etc. but that didn't help at all. Wondering what else I need to do to facilitate the download. Any help would be appreciated. kat |
