Can anyone help with the lyrics for a song I heard Jim Reynolds sing, I think it is called For Better For Worse. Chorus starts Here and Gone Her and Gone Another day another dawn

I think it's called Here And Gone, if I remember rightly - I'll dig out the CD (which is called For Better Or Worse) and transcribe the lyrics for you.

Jim has a website, which can be found through Google. I know him from when lived in Bristol in the late seventies. Last saw him play about 6 years ago.

Here's a page at Jim Reynolds' web site where you can hear a generous sample of HERE AND GONE, but I find it difficult to understand him—which is probably why you asked, right?

Anyway, I did hear the phrase "for better or worse, for rich or poor" which at least confirms that Pete identified the right song and album.

If Pete doesn't come through with the lyrics soon, I'll have a crack at transcribing the sample, which should at least be better than nothing.

Here they are - I couldn't make them out from the record either, so I got them direct from Jim. Should've thought of that in the first place!

Here And Gone                                                Jim Reynolds

Its a shame, the way your hurting, a pity the way I carry on
I'm to blame, I know for certain, if only I had the magic wand
Here and gone, here and gone, another day another door
But its the only life I know now, for better or worse, for rich or poor

Here we lie with our tomorrow, you know I can stay just one more day
I see your mouth all down in sorrow, but I can find no words to say
Here and gone, here and gone, sometimes I feel like I belong to
Some sad moon fickle stranger, who's looking to hear just one more song

Wish I could love and hold you better, wish I could ease your worried mind
Slip into the dreams your dreaming, leave this crazy world behind
Here and gone, here and gone, another road, another song,
But its the only life I know, there's nothing to do, but to carry on

Here and gone, here and gone, another day, another door,
But it's the only life I know now, for better or worse, for rich or poor

An afterthought, Flush: put the chords on and re-post if you can.
