Being the model citizen that I am and the height of decorum and good taste (not to mention "Good Housekeeping"--so I won't), this is a subject that I would normally never touch. But Jeri brought it up and she seemed so excited and sincere, I can but make the suggestion. Jeri says, "Let's all get naked in front of the computer and listen to Rick's show." What a fine idea Jeri!!! Luckily, I'm going to dinner with friends and will not be able to join you. Plus, as I said, I think the Wesson might screw up my keyboard (again note I did not mention mouse or joystick---decorum,ya' know?). I'll check in later to see how this went. Personally, I have a mental image of this that's stronger than rhino gas. But for me, the real nice part is when Rick checks in, reads this and THEN does his show. I mean, how would YOU be doing, KNOWING there was at least SOME chance that a portion of your audience is naked??? So Jeri, there you go, you nasty girl you!!!! Spaw |

When I last saw him 25 years ago he was a finger-picking J-45 playing, Rev. Gary-influenced guy. I now hear that he's been living in Turkey (that's right - Midnite Express turf) for many years and has become a kind of "pop" icon, by merging his American style with that of various regional Turkish styles. I'm anxious to hear it. I'll be singing a version of the Hiring Fair that I learned many years ago, cause someone (I forgot who) mentioned it in the campfire thread. If it gets any hotter here we just MIGHT get "nekked"! |

Jeff Cohen) Jeff's getting a little long in the tooth for climbing all over the equipment and dancing (virtually) naked through his punk rock show. (he's at least 30 now!) But it hardly matters. A few weeks ago someone at the station appointed themselves a "moral conscience" and had Jeff threatened with termination if he didn't put the clothes back on. For Christ's sake, he always wore a bathing suit! Jeff loves his show (he is superb at it) and didn't want to lose it, so now he's fully clothed, and will always be looking behind him and wondering just who it was that couldn't stand his outrageousness. |

I will send them to Max in the next week and if he's able to work that computer magic, I'll send one down after every monday and hopefully your wonderful loyalty can be rewarded. You'll get the shows a week late (I guess) but it's folk music so that won't matter. For what it's worth I thought tonight's show went very well. Leigh Kline was interesting (he's leonard Cohen's cousin) and we'll have him on again in a few weeks. We also played Stan's Mary Ellen Carter for Harp girl but of course she couldn't hear it. I'm sorry folks. By the way. Stan's widow Ariel joined Paul Mills and I on "Handful of Songs" to close off Tex's memorial. That was a good moment. rick |
