Subject: RE: Tech: webfilehost.com From: treewind Date: 30 Nov 09 - 03:36 AM I can't see any reason why you shouldn't try it. But if you want to make sound recordings available for free, consider signing up to MySpace as a "band" - it doesn't matter if there's only one of you, their idea of a "band" is anyone that has streaming music available on its page. You can upload up to ten tracks, I think, and change them any time. It also means you can write stuff about the music and yourself on the page. And it's free! Anahata |
Subject: Tech: webfilehost.com From: Janie Date: 30 Nov 09 - 12:16 AM I've been feeling a bit braver lately, and would occasionally like to share a crude home recording (using Garage Band and saved as an mp3 file) here on Mudcat. I don't have the capability of doing a video recording to upload to Youtube. Tonight a Google search lead me to several free file hosting services that include music files. This site, http://www.webfilehost.com/, is one from which it appears I could upload an mp3 file and then provide a link here on Mudcat to it. There appears to be no charge for doing so. I'm not very savy, and also a bit paranoid and thought I would ask tech and web savy 'Catters if there is any reason to not give this a try. Thanks. Janie |
