Does anyone have the words to the Ivan Drever song "The Varagen"?
The chorus is:

And if you know where I could find lyrics to other songs of his, please say so. I don't see a site or a songbook of his work mentioned on the web.

Ivan Drever's song THE VARAGEN is on his album "The Orkney Years, Vol. II."

I also found there is an Orkney ferry called the Varagen. Is that what the song's about?

Thanks all. I have that album with the song, but there are words I can't make out. Yes, the ferry might have something to do with it...

I contacted Drever's website and he replied that he's planning to put out a book of lyrics sometime in 2010.

He did have a website, and was going to put the words of all his songs on it - mammoth task! However, don't think he got very far, and I can't find the website. Will ask him when I see him.

Just offhand I can't remember which CD it is on - Could be one of the Orkney Years ones - and in the early days he put the lyrics on the insert for the CD. Will have a look and see if I can find out from my CDs.
