Of course, I endorse your right to make a personal decision about the hoo-hoos!

I put the hoo-hoos in only because I thought it might help recreate the experience of hearing the song, for those people who either can't or won't hear it for themselves, or haven't yet heard it.

At least that's the best excuse I can think of right now.

I know what you mean, though, about yodel-ay-hees and the like.

For the same reason, I usually omit the instructions to repeat the chorus after every verse, or to play an "instrumental break here." I figure people are perfectly capable on their own to decide how many times to repeat the chorus, or whether, and when, to play instrumental breaks.

But, darn it, the bottom line is, there are some arguments for, and some against, printing this stuff. No matter how much I ponder the question, I seem to decide one way one time, and the other way the next time I post lyrics. And often afterwards I can't remember what the deciding factor was in any given case.

Good thing I'm not an air traffic controller.

Jim,

I believe you have nailed it. As good as we are likely to nail it, barring somebody finding an original member of the band. Several of the things you found were ones I suspected, but I didn't want to influence anyone a priori. The "hoo-hoo"s I left off deliberately, cuz' to hoo-hoo or not is one I believe is a personal choice. Reminds me of Billy Connolly talking about a Hank Williams songbook that included the "yodel-a-dee hodel-lee-dee-ho"s in detail. Some things are best left to the individual singer to do their own fillips. ;^)

Thanks much for "Sears"! It's obvious once you know it, but it was unfathomable before. "Blue sock" sounds like what it is saying too. No idea on that one!?!

I declare it good enough to sing. Thanks again.
