Doing fine here in Baltimore, Md. USA.
Our event has been going on for some years now with growth each time. We just keep it simple. Roaring fire, huge cauldron of wassail outside with smoking bishop inside. Hand warmer meat pies and apple cakes- all traditional. I just open the doors and in they come bearing ale and foods. Not all that expensive to put on. We keep it late in the season when christmas has died down for most. Old first night. We also keep it FREE and no Hotels or Convention centers.No Con~!

Yes my view of the world~! have a good time and practice the traditions that I write about as a folklorist. But then I am partial to folklore. Those who do otherwise are ok- mall music by dead pop classic stars has not yet been proven to cause problems.

But we do wonder.

Thanks for the info. It was interesting to see wassail songs and lore from sources as diverse as Cecil Sharp, Washington Irving and John Milton.

But somehow I don't think the wassail will catch on again, except perhaps in smaller settlements where people know one another pretty well.

Cause they don't know the words!
Give them our guidebook and they will be able to sing immediately!
And also know how to make meat pies, wassail, bishop etc.....
