When I get involved in a thread I expect no special treatment from those who don't know my personal circumstances — that is what we have the PM facility for.

I received this one from an old friend and camping buddy from San Diego who doesn't want me to identify him. HE received it from a fellow who is with the Louisville Orchestra, of all places. I'm not sure who really wrote the thing, since it's not attributed.

Sadly, I do agree that we have become a nation of voyeurs and those in the media who aid and abet same. I have no wish to indulge myself in it and regret any appearance of same. Tiger was a local celebrity before he was a national one - as a junior golfer. He made what appear to be unfortunate choices which are none of my business.

That said, once you strive to become a media darling, you need to prepare yourself for the day you're unmasked or - reveal your shortcomings.

Actually I agree. Amid the Tiger gossip at the office I asked if anyone knew what was happebing with the proposed health plan. Stunned silence. Then I asked how many soldiers died today in Afghanistan. More silence. Who gives a shit about Tiger's private life other than those who stand to make money off him? And of course his wife.

It was bound to happen. Someone just sent me a composition celebrating the peccadilloes of our favorite golfer cum serial adulterer. I am not, personally, guilty of golf. It just seemed like a good place to start a "how the mighty have fallen" thread.


Twas the night of Thanksgiving and out of the house
Tiger Woods came a flyin', chased by his spouse.
She wielded a nine iron and wasn't too merry,
