For the benefit of folkies within striking distance of Kiveton Park Folk Club, our guests on Tuesday 22nd December will be Cockersdale.This much admired trio will provide a mixture of traditional and contemporary songs in their inimitable style. Expect some lovely harmonies from Graham, Val and John with plenty of chances to get your gob around a chorus or two. Should be a great evening. There's free grub, tea and coffee, a cheap bar, a friendly crowd of folks and the music of Cockersdale. Entrance is £7 on the door.Can't be bad! All welcome.

When I saw the thread title I thought it must be just about their last-ever gig, as they had announced that 2009 would see the end of Cockersdale. So I checked their website and was delighted to learn that they've decided to continue. What a nice early Christmas present. (OK, I expect everyone else knew already, but it was news to me)

Yes, it's tonight folks. Probably the last chance in 2009 to see this great harmony trio ( at least in Sheffield!) Good night promised. Don't worry about the inclement weather, get yer team of huskies hitched up and mush yer way to Kiveton Park Folk Club. Actually, its pretty clear round here. Major roads OK and side roads easy with care. All welcome.
