Subject: Kerfuffle From: Weasel Date: 21 Dec 09 - 07:07 PM In the discussion on the Christmas TV show someone mentioned Kerfuffle. I don't know them at all so I looked them up on Youtube - what a wonderful group, given that they've been going for so long I don't know how I've missed them. Once again this forum contributes to my education! Cheers, Weasel |

Subject: RE: Kerfuffle From: Weasel Date: 21 Dec 09 - 07:42 PM Yeah, it is here too (well, it's more a fuss really) - but I like the group. |

Subject: RE: Kerfuffle From: Rasener Date: 22 Dec 09 - 03:56 AM We have had Kerfuffle at Faldingworth Live and they were brilliant. We have them back on June 5th 2010. http://www.faldingworthlive.co.uk/ |
Subject: RE: Kerfuffle From: Mavis Enderby Date: 22 Dec 09 - 06:36 AM Les - It was mainly their performance at Faldingworth that made me think they would have been good for the BBC Christmas party. Pete. |
Subject: RE: Kerfuffle From: Rasener Date: 22 Dec 09 - 08:16 AM Yes indeed Pete Les |
Subject: RE: Kerfuffle From: EnglishFolkfan Date: 22 Dec 09 - 09:53 AM A never to be forgotten Christmas gathering at Ashover Parish Hall: Kerfuffle, the Sheffield Folk Chorale with Graham & Eileen Pratt and the Winster Guisers performing in full manic madness. Then a clear starlit frosty night drive across the hills and edges of 3 Counties safely home. Seasonal celebrations at their best. http://www.grahamandeileenpratt.co.uk/choir.html http://www.winster.org/Guisers/WGuisers.htm |
Subject: RE: Kerfuffle From: katlaughing Date: 22 Dec 09 - 04:11 PM JUst listening to them, now, on Ron Olesko's Christmas radio show of last Sunday. Very nice sound. Thanks for the links...I really enjoyed reading about 'Guisers! |
Subject: RE: Kerfuffle From: GUEST,Guest Date: 23 Dec 09 - 04:08 AM It is a pity Folkwaves on radio Derby could not find time in a two hour Christmas Special to feature a track from Lighten the Dark. |
Subject: RE: Kerfuffle From: Rasener Date: 23 Dec 09 - 04:42 AM That is unusual, as I know, talking to Mick Peat and Lester Simpson that they love Kerfuffle. |
Subject: RE: Kerfuffle From: Ruth Archer Date: 23 Dec 09 - 05:02 AM And they feature them very regularly indeed! |
Subject: RE: Kerfuffle From: Dave Sutherland Date: 23 Dec 09 - 05:44 AM Folkwaves featured Hannah James and Sam Sweeney as guests on their programme 7/12/2009 (listened to it on the way to Grand Union Folk thats how I know the date). Didn't hear all of Monday's edition as I ran out of signal on M1 |
Subject: RE: Kerfuffle From: EnglishFolkfan Date: 23 Dec 09 - 06:03 AM Not only do Mick & Lester play Kerfuffle tracks regularly, & by my count they've just about covered Lighten the Dark since the CD was handed to them, but Kerfuffle members together and in pairs appear frequently 'live' on the show. Another BBC Folk Local Radio show where Lighten the Dark has been played ever since it landed in the 'pigeon' is Genevieve Tudor's Sunday Folk. Kerfuffle are favourites of this show's listeners too, played Gallery Carol & Sussex Carol last Sunday! Subject: RE: Kerfuffle From: Folkiedave Date: 23 Dec 09 - 06:06 AM Thank Goodness It's Folk has also featured Hannah and Sam, way back in September!! And they appear on my Facebook page with a well-known voice from Radio 2 :-) http://www.facebook.com/#/group.php?gid=133943690093&ref=ts Incidentally if anyone wants to know why I rate the "unknown" Donald Grant as a fiddler supreme listen to the opening track of the second half of last week's show, which comes straight after the montage. http://www.canstream.co.uk/sheffieldlive/index.php?cat=ThankGoodnessitsFolk! |
