I've heard Davie sing it but it was a long time ago and I've forgotten the tune - anyone know?

Sparrow too in his true calypso style wonders.....*Why get sober*

What`s the use of getting sober? when you know you`re getting drunk again
What`s the use of drinking alcohol?...when it only confuse your brain.

Hamish Imlach also sang "Goodbye Booze".

My son, when about 5, once referred to Edinburgh's Hanover Street as "Hangover Street": not so far off the mark, as it is crossed by Rose St which has numerous pubs!

Ian composed the tune Hangover Poos which can be found here http://thesession.org/tunes/3151
It goes well with another compositionof his The Lavatory Seat!

"If only the birds were booze, If the sun was a party giver, If I could give someone else me liver, On a Monday morning." From "On a Monday Morning" by Cyril Tawny.

There is a furiously energetic reel by the Scottish accordionist Ian Lowthian called "The Hangover Poo". I guess the fact that it happens very fast is the point.

One of my favourites, from the McCalmans: "Wrecked again":

Greetings

In honor of New Year's Eve, "The Universe is Gnawing on My Head" is available for free download.

It's a blues number featuring the legendary JoeBass, now of the WIYOS. Joe created sound effects that precisely replicate the mental state that follows downing one quart of gin, followed by rye, within a nine-hour timeframe.

You can find it here:

http://daveshiflett.com

Be assured this song is not an exercise in advocacy, but instead a cautionary tale.

Season's best,

Dave Shiflett
