Susan Boyle's naming of Elaine Paige has resulted in Elaine's music being introduced to a far wider audience, particularly in the USA. I was thinking, what if Susan had mentioned fellow performer Dick Miles instead of Elaine? Now, that would have been interesting. For any of our non-UK Mudcatters, who don't knowDick, here is a link to Dick singing Willy of The Winsbury which, of course, was written by that well-known French folk singer A.Non

I'd listen to Dick Miles over Susan Boyle any day. That is not to say I begrudge Susan her success - what she does, she does well. But Dick's ballad singing is much more to my taste.
