Give it a break, eh? It's all been debated to buggery in previous and sometimes acrimonious threads. I won't persuade you, and vice versa.

Cheers.

I admire her because she performed fearlessly to an openly derisive audience. Now I'm not especially prone to stage fright, but I don't for a minute think I could have pulled off what she did -- and seemingly with ease, too.

In other words, she didn't fail before she had even started, which is what I think 99% of people would do given those circumstances.

And I was gobsmacked by "Wild Horses", by the way.

Sorry folks to start yet another thread on Susan Boyle but I am going to completely destroy my reputation here and say that I think she is absolutely brilliant!

I loved her in first audition on The X Factor here in the UK when she sang 'I dreamed a dream' and Simon Cowell and the rest of the judging panel were left absolutely stunned. I believe it was there that when she was asked by Cowell, who she wished to be/emulate, that she said 'Elaine Page'....and then she blew their socks off!!

Later on I heard 'Wild Horses' on the car radio and I just melted on the seat. Such a great, powerful and emotional song..and since then I've been hooked and went out and bought her album. So now I am a true fan. What a fantastic voice and such a rare find, who I believe we should take to our hearts and applause and celebrate her magic talent.

I can see her having a massive influence in 'Musical Theatre(musicals)' because she has the power in her voice to knock the spots off even the the brilliant Elaine Page and hope that Andrew Lloyd Webber is already penning a musical especially for her in the starring role!

Another thing that really intrigues me is why our dear Susan is so big/special in the USA? Why is she such a USA hero? OK I know you folks like to get behind the 'underdog' who is not so good looking and has been through loads of adversity and bullying but her mother believed that one day she would make something of herself...and she certainly has..so what do you think is so special about her?

Why is she your special hero?
