Subject: RE: Obit: Theresa Tooley (Treaties) 2 Jan 2010 From: Ebbie Date: 02 Jan 11 - 03:27 PM I met Therese only the once - at the 2004 or 2005 Getaway - but I think of her often. Especially so, since the little Care Bear she sent me sits on a shelf I pass every day. This was a woman larger than life encased in a small frame that was scarcely large enough to hold her. It will be a long time before I forget her, if ever. |

Subject: RE: Obit: Theresa Tooley (Treaties) 2 Jan 2010 From: nutty Date: 02 Jan 11 - 04:17 AM It's a year now since we lost Theresa but, such was her impact on my life, that she is still almost constantly in my thoughts. Perhaps this is what is really meant by life after death. Certainly the spirit of Theresa will never die |
Subject: RE: Obit: Theresa Tooley (Treaties) 2 Jan 2010 From: Shantyfreak Date: 16 Jan 10 - 09:20 AM So many people sharing memories of this grand-old-lady. She has left a big hole in the life of all of us who knew her. There have been murmurings of a Memorial Concert and why not? (put me down for a ticket) but for the rest of this year why don't we all remember Theresa in the way she would like best. At every festival we have connections with, let's persuade the organisers to nominate one of the Sing-a-Rounds as the "Theresa Tooley Memorial Sing-a-Round" and let's all sing our favourite songs that we sang with T. That way every-one can join in everywhere. Pass the thought on. Jim |

Subject: RE: Obit: Theresa Tooley (Treaties) 2 Jan 2010 From: Dave Wynn Date: 09 Jan 10 - 06:33 PM Theresa promted the writing of Indian Summer by Pete Ryder. He never, ever sang that song without crediting Theresa with the raison d'etre. Why, is between Pete and Theresa. She could sing a third below my bass harmony and a fifth above my melody. She was good with hugs when you needed one too. Weeping here Theresa.......... |

Subject: RE: Obit: Theresa Tooley (Treaties) 2 Jan 2010 From: Cavia_P Date: 06 Jan 10 - 05:34 AM Oh dear, I came on MC for the first time in ages looking for one old friend and found another has passed. I can't remember a time when Theresa wasn't at the heart of any festival singaround. She was someone I always enjoyed spending time with, and it was always quality time. Captain Bloody Valiant was her song (in my mind), but I recall the Ironing Board Shanty and "I'll be no submissive wife". She was at the forefront of a group of very formidable ladies, but always with great humour and affection. RIP Treasure. Chris Nicole Guineapigs and polar bears |
