From http://www.cyberus.ca/~rg/ch_h002.htm Literal translation (you know I never was a poet!) For a moment, I forgot my name, It allowed me at last to write this song. For a moment, I turned my mirror over It allowed me at last to see myself better. Without stopping, I dashed in the dark, Caught like a hopeless wolf. I lost my time to gain time, I need to find a story to tell to myself. For a moment, I breathed hard It allowed me to visit my body, Strangers live in my home as kings, Even though I'd accepted their laws. I lost my time to gain time, I need to find a story to tell to myself. For a moment, I forgot my name, It allowed me to write this song at last. |
Subject: RE: Harmonium- Pour un instant From: katlaughing Date: 04 Jan 10 - 12:30 AM How beautiful! Don't know enough French to catch it all, but it is really nice to listen to; I love listening to French. You'd think my Rog would translate but he's just not up with it any more despite speaking it at home and school all of his early life. I guess it's like riding a bike; ya have to practice. Thanks for the links! |
Subject: RE: Harmonium- Pour un instant From: gnu Date: 03 Jan 10 - 05:44 PM Oh... Depuis l'Automne (Si On Avait Besoin, 1975) Great song and music. "Tastey guitar" too. Maybe a bit too "artsy" for folk here, but still folk in my ears. |
