We are off to Sidmouth tomorrow, I hope you are all here when we return. If any other Mudcatters are there, come to the Anchor gardens on Sunday at 4pm or Tuesday at midday and say hello to the melodeon player in the band.

I was already down there when you wrote this, Melodeon, but did you have a good time? I certainly did!

Great festival (several appreciations, including mine, have been posted on uk.music.folk) - so I come back and find Mudcat (which I was just starting to get used to) has had a facelift and all the thread "Traces" I'd set up have disappeared . . .

Oh, well, a very small price to pay . .

Yes thankyou Jane we had a wonderful time. Memorable things, Roy Bailey and Ray Fisher in concert and The old swan band dance. it is good to know that we could all get better as we get older if they are anything to go by.

Forgive me if I being dim, but how does one access to uk.musik.folk? I've tried a couple of serches and found a page of text that tells me about the group, but not how to get on to it.

Is it a matter of signing up to a mailing list?

Yours,
Jane

Jane . . uk.m.f. is a Usenet newsgroup; so normally you need newsreader software to access it. However to sample it without the hassle of setting up newsreaders you can simply access it through DejaNews: http://www.dejanews.com

Sign up for the MyDeja option and choose uk.music.folk as a "forum" you want to view.

It's a bit of a pain using DejaNews because the system is designed to shove their advertising down your throat - but it's a good way to try it out. If you decide you like it then you can look for some News software (you probably already have some but haven't got it activated).

Regards

George
