Steve: Do you have any lyrics--even a few lines or phrases? 'Alright for some' brings up LOTS of sites, and none immediately related to what you want.

The only bit I vaguely remember (apart from the tune) is

999 - it won't take that long; I just needed time to look it up in my song folders and type it up!

Recorded on the album It's All Right For Song Peter's notes say: "It's strange how college life can make you confuse your priorities. You'd spend hours trying to persuade a girl that you weren't just a thick engineering student, that you were really quite clever and sensitive until you'd end up under the table feeling not so clever and even less sensitive."

The words here are from one of the broadside's that Peter used to sell. (I haven't compared them with the recording). When I've got time I'll put the tune up.

I was actually requested to sing this song a couple of months ago. People still remember it and it's great to see them joining in the chorus/refrain.

My old mate Charlie loves Peter Bond and taught me this song at Uni in Nottingham years ago. Still sing/play it to my wife to this day. Can't find any rendition on www sadly.
