JACKADDER'S MUSIC CLUB
Our first show for the year will be on Sunday Feb 21st and will feature the talented guitarist and songwriter Craig Sinclair. Craig has been in the news recently becoming a finalist in the Telstra Road to Tamworth. He will perform in the grand-final in Tamworth on Tuesday January 19th. Good luck Craig!

2010 features the One Voice Closing Concert, with coming together to sing; one of Australia's premier world-folk groups Dya Singh, with their soaring vocals and supported by the virtuosic Bobby Singh on tabla drums and violinist Andrew Clermont.
Joining them on the bill is internationally recognized choir leader Stephen Taberner, one of the 'hits' of this years Woodford Festival Mr Percival, extraordinary lead singer of the Narasirato Pan Pipers from the Solomon Islands Charles Maimarosia, the sweet indigenous vocals of the Stiff Gins, and the wild contemporary vocals of Colin Offord, as well as a wide variety of quality vocal acts representing nearly every sphere of vocal possibility.

From the blues, folk, world music and choirs, to contemporary story telling, rapping, vocal percussion, Indigenous and sacred chants, this years program is full of surprise.

Calling all actors, dancers, singers, clowns and other performers. Have you considered Oral Storytelling?

The Storytelling Guild of Australia (WA) is organising a series of workshops, starting with one led by visiting storyteller
Debbie Guneratne (UK) who presented at the 2005 Storytelling Festival.

*"I enjoyed it so much I missed the next workshop because I wanted to take in what I'd just heard." (Brenda Berrisford)*

The workshop will focus on improving your storytelling skills using the Asian concept of Rasa, working through the emotions inspired in your audience.

Come and be stimulated by stories from ancient times that resound with truths that still hold today. Be innovative and ingenious in the use of your imagination and increase your skills in effective and influential public speaking. Discover the fun and power of storytelling.

Please bring a five minute story and a percussion instrument (if you have one) with you, which we will use to work on the Rasa concept. The
workshop will also involve drama and storytelling activities/games.

If you get chance to migrate a little from the CBD along the Swan river towards Freemantle (good train services) you might find something going on at the Kulture, situated above a coffee bar in the main "coffee bar street" Google will probably find the answers. Was there in 2008 and there were some great international artists featured..

We went to Cottesloe Beach, and played all night under a sign that said " No Camping--No fires " etc. We had a good fire,of course,and plenty of cheap plonk from Penfolds !! Great fun !! Then it got more civilised,and we performed in the Supreme Court Gardens Theatre ! The year?? 1968 !!

It got me all nostalgic for all the wonderful times I had when I used to visit Perth. It got even worse when I had a look at the Fairbridge Festival site.
We really enjoyed performing there,GREAT festival.
