For my sins I've been reduced to working with the above named digital 8-track, which is the cheapest machine on the market that allows for 4 independent phantom powered XLR inputs and gives half-decent recording quality to boot as anyone who works with them will testify.

Problem is, we've suffered something of a glitch. In trying to open a new file, the message HDD DISK FULL is flashed up; pressing ENTER (as advised) we get FILE ERROR 1C F009 (Google this and you get a Googlewhack). In every other respect the machine is still working just fine. In IT Crowd tradition I have tried turning it off & turning it back on again - alas, to no avail...

Anyone experienced anything similar or might point me in the direction of a solution???

Could be you need to reformat the hard disk, or maybe re-install the latest system version from the manufacturer's website. Those are usually the generic solutions to disk problems with similar machines.

You might find someone who knows about these things on the relevant Studiotrax forum

Sometimes messages mean what they say.

Have you tried deleting files to free up space?

Do you have a way of getting three key pieces of information:
1. capacity of disk
2. used space on disk
3. remaining space on disk

The manual and spec suggest it has 40gb drive and that you can browse it as with any other hard drive by attaching it to a computer via USB. You can then copy things off or do what you want.

Manual which I'm sure you have

I should have pointed out that the hard drive isn't full; my initial response to the message was to delete files to make sure.

Thanks all.
