A wonderful evening in which several of the workshop participants sang. Even speaking as a musician, I found it delightful that every floor singer sang unaccompanied.

We've just had a cancellation for today's workshop from a singer stranded in India by Icelandic ash. If anyone in Mudcat-land is interested in using the place, let me know before 10.00 a.m. Shirley was in great form yesterday and the evening was splendid.

Shirley would like to make it clear that 'masterclass' doesn't mean you have to be a master to take part. The days are for anyone who would like help and guidance in tackling English traditional songs.

You can do two days if you like, but they are indeed two separate workshops. To begin with, though, as we only have eight places per day, I'd rather people picked one and then put themselves on the reserve list for the other as this will give more individuals a chance to take part.

The evening shows are different, of course.

Shirley's love, knowledge & understanding of English traditional song are second to none. In these masterclasses, limited to eight people per day, participants will bring two or three English traditional songs of their choice for her to give her unique guidance on interpretation & performance.
