I saw Hanson-Conant live in Edinburgh a few years ago. Playing in hotpants and using a bare thigh to damp the strings. Is there any chance this could become standard harp technique?

this woman's harp playing has impressed me...

she has collaborated with Mark Knopfler.

apparently she had liver cancer...
and there have been no recent posts...
which may not be good news...
I wish her the best..

also see http://www.myspace.com/deecarstensen

here is another harp player with an interesting story
http://www.myspace.com/george_flores

and this fellow has played with Norton Buffalo
he is from Paraguay and lives in the S.F. Bay area now
he plays harp and fiddle
http://www.carlosreyesmusic.com/

and here is an incredible player and collector of instruments
(and harp guitars)http://www.minermusic.com/
(he may be abole to indentify the instrument which was recently
posted on mudcat ukeluin? zither? in a query thread...

i suppose this should actually be on a harp guitar thread
--as we have drifted here. here is a herd of harp guitars..

Seen plenty of blues-harp players, but never a blues harp player!

Those instruments look scary! Can't get Youtube to let me listen at the moment, but I will later...

First thing *I* thought of was Phil DuGruy's "guitarp":

YouTube video (just one of several)

Picture and description (Check out the "fanned frets" design.)
