(Ok... how to turn a typo in the title into s plus:)

This just in:

"Extensive research and archival digging have produced no difinitive evidence of the line-up at the first ever mythical Apple Hollow festival!"

But, the deeper question remains: will the brief thousand year tradition continue this year? on this, its appocraphal millenial anniversarey!!!

Some local racounteur cwill no doubt be able no to fill in all the heart-wrenching appocraphal details of the origins of Apple Hollow that have become shrouded with the mysterious passage of time.

My banjo, harmonicas and I all fervently wish to participate in the great millenial celebration for the great lost millenium.

In other words: Will there be a Festival this year? and can I play at it?

To answer your question, I really don't know. A decision is suppose to be made this month. If there is I will not be part of it as festival coordinator or artistic director. After 10 years involvement in the festival world it is time to step aside. I have found other interest in the music field which I want to pursue.

Tried my darnedest to get there for just a day trip last summer but it was not to be.

I was a touch sad to hear Beer was stepping down. Now, news that there might not even be another "Applefest" leaves me a bit more sad that I could not attend last summer to meet up with some of the nicest folks, cyberfolks and in person, I have ever met.

Adrien's work with the festivals--both Apple Hollow and Ormstown--was nothing short of incredible. His consideration for performers put many other festivals to shame. He has become such a good friend over the years that what I'll miss most is not seeing him and his missus in mid July. (She's a great cook as well as a lovely person :-).

Festivals don't happen by themselves, and many other people helped, but as ships will go awry and askew without someone at the tiller, so too will musical events that don't have someone guiding and calling the final shots. He was the guy that did that.

Hay! there still may be one. Just because I'm leaving doesn't mean that there won't be one. I just won't be there, that's all. I'm out of the festival scene for 2010 but I haven't said that I won't be back though. My buddy and I are opening a company and the web site to it is nearly complete.
