Subject: Calico Jack house concert in CT (US) From: Celtaddict Date: 15 Jan 10 - 07:33 PM Hi, one and all, let's drive the cold winter away with music in the living room! On Saturday, February 6, we will have CALICO JACK here! Paul DiBlasi and Janie Meneely perform together as Calico Jack, combining songs about the Chesapeake with classic chanteys from the seven seas. Calico Jack website As usual, bring money for the musicians ($12 for Janie and Paul) and food or drink to share. We'll gather Saturday, Feb 6, at 6 p.m. for potluck supper, music will start at 7, and there will be dessert at the break. I will provide ice, tea, coffee, dishes, and whatever else I take a notion. PM me here at Mudcat or E-mail me at marusurfer (at) ay oh ell.com for a seat, and directions to the house if you need them. (Not you, Cap, I would just lead you astray...) Looking forward to seeing you, and to a most enjoyable evening! |

Don't worry we will be finished in plenty of time for those who want to get home to watch the Superbowl. |

Subject: RE: Calico Jack house concert in CT (US) From: Celtaddict Date: 20 Jan 10 - 06:31 PM Refresh; this is a fun show! Anyone who does not place the name: I first heard of Janie Meneely when I heard her song 'Twiddles' in New Orleans years ago. (The song is based on the logical concept that a sailor can have a lass in every port only if the lasses have a sailor on every ship; "There's other things to twiddle when your man has gone to sea.") I love song with harmonies and Janie and Paul do this so well! |
