Subject: Clé Club Features Sean Moen From: Bren Ború Date: 16 Jan 10 - 10:49 AM The Clé Club is a traditional music and singing club based in the Cois Life Bar, Liberty Hall, Dublin. The club provides a relaxed atmosphere in which amateurs and professionals can enjoy traditional singing and music and participate as much as they like. The only strict rule is that of respect for the performers. The club takes place every Wednesday evening at 8.30pm. Subscription: €5. This week's guest is the incomparable Sean Moen. From Keady in County Armagh, Sean has been a singer and songwriter since the 1970s. Many of his satirical songs focus, with genial ridicule, on political figures and issues in his part of the world as in "David Trimble's Pimple". Others concern such important matters as border smuggling, with reference to Margaret Thatcher's influence, in "The Transit Van". This is going to be a great night, so if you are in the Dublin area make sure you get along to this. |
