Tech: Lifting slide out of Powerpoint

I've put little Powerpoint shows together before and manipulated this and that but I've a couple of huge 'nice picture' presentations arrived as email attachments I just wanted to keep the odd slide from.
When I try and copy a slide though the copy becomes a 'one slide' Powerpoint show. How do I lift just the picture?

File, save as, save as type: JPG, export the current slide
