It would appear that the UK tour has been cancelled. I think it is only just out, but I think it is confirmed.

Was really looking forward to seeing him again.

We had tickets for Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Feb 5th. Their website sadly confirms this news. Apparently his wife, Midge, is ill and he and the family are at her bedside.

Our thoughts are with them all.

Norwich Evening news article:
Folk legend Tom Paxton has cancelled his forthcoming UK tour at the eleventh hour due to family illness.

He was due to begin the run of concerts this Sunday at Norwich Theatre Royal but has cancelled the entire series of dates as his wife has been taken ill and he is at her bedside.

He said: “It breaks my heart to have to cancel my UK tour but I need to be with my wife Midge right now. I hope to return later on in the year to make this up to all my fans.”

The Theatre Royal box office team will be contacting everyone who has booked over the next few days to arrange refunds.

Venue spokesman John Bultitude said: “Please don't contact us - we will contact you. The box office team will get in touch with all bookers to let them know the arrangements for a refund.”

So sorry to hear this, and add my good wishes for Midge's recovery to the rest. I had a ticket for next Weds in Glasgow, where he has done amazing concerts during the Celtic Connections Festival on several occasions.

Best wishes to you and yours, Tom. Today, at work, someone asked me if I knew anything about a gay tele-tubbie. I sang Tinkie Winkie for them. You may have a few new fans - young ones.

Tom has been with me for so many years.
I saw him first at the albert hall in 1971..the first time out since the birth of my new baby girl...he was great and I howled all through Jennifer's rabbit.
Saw him last spring in Bristol, singing as good as ever and was looking forward to next week when he was coming to Cornwall.
The first time for a while.
Every thought and best wish to him and Midge.
His kindness and humanity deserve good things to happen.

Get well very soon, Midge; we're all willing you on. I first saw Tom in St David's Hall, Cardiff, and when Calennig toured America, we travelled on the same plane as Tom - a very special flight indeed!

Hope that Midge gets better soon Tom. You were of course, quite right to cancel your UK tour. Hope that you can rearrange it, as I haven't seen you perform since 1987 in Greenwich. The first I remember was at The Fairfield Halls in Croydon in the 1970s.

I was so sorry to hear from The Stables Theatre today about your wife's illness. Your songs have been part of my life since the 60's and we shall miss being with you in Feb but the important thing is your loved ones at this time. Warmest wishes to you all and every hope for Midge's good recovery and brighter skies ahead.

I did "Rambling Boy" in the House of Song at the Festival Club at celtic Connections in Glasgow on Sunday, and last night, 27th, when he should have been here, "Last Thing On My Mind" in the late night sessions at the concert hall. "For the man who couldn't be here tonight" (but all my thoughts were with you and Midge). Great how everyone joined in: hope you heard us across the pond!
See you next year, all being well.
