One of the things I do in my copious free time is Errors & Omissions Research for film & TV. In a recent project, a cast character is a presumably fictitious folk singer from the mid-1960's; I'd like to make sure that the name is in fact fictitious. Anybody out there ever hear of a "Chris Coolidge" (or "Kris", or "Christopher", or anything of that nature)? (I've checked him on DT, and I'll check him in an number of other sources, but Mudcat seems to be a good bet, considering the level of scholarship and the long memories generally afforded here.

Not folk nor 60s, but there is a current Chris Coolidge.

The first that came to my mind was Kris Kristofferson singing with Rita Coolidge.*smile*

New school of Pop/Rock. Modern rock with a smile. Chris Coolidge writes great songs. Longtime and current singer/songwriter/guitarist for the band Johnny Socko goes solo. Imagine Foo Fighters combined with Squeeze.

Genre: Rock: Modern Rock
Release Date: 2004

CD title is "Center of the Universe.

There is a Christopher Coolidge on youtube. (Don't know if it's the same guy.)

Kat's link goes to the guy discussed in the post above. I'm almost sure it isn't the guy on YouTube, who spends long enough messing around before the music starts that I didn't wait for it.

It sounds very much like someone took Rita Coolidge and Kris Kristofferson and morphed them into a single fictitious person. The reverse of that concept is the old radio announcer who once turned John Charles Thomas into a trio.

Is that like the well known Olivia Newton John Trio?

Some years ago a friend sent me a cutting from (I Think) TV Times about a film - The villain was Terry Silver ! I think I have left it too late to sue though !

I used to have a workmate called Bill McInerney - he could have gone on as a trio...

Yay, tell me about it - what about Michael Myers, the slasher murderer of the Halloween films, who, in the first, murders his older sister Judith: my sister's name; she is 7 years older than me; & I didn't adopt my present middle name till I was in my 30s. So you can imagine I found this a bit spooky...

Actually, I think the Kristofferson/Coolidge connection may be fortuitous, since a relative of this character, with the "Coolidge" surname, was established during the previous season; I think the writer just liked the alliteration (the writer is probably too young to have heard of Rita Coolidge). But all this is useful as far as the Legal Dept., for who I churn out this verbiage, is concerned. Thanks!

I know this doesn't help a bit, but the devil made me do it.

A rock club somewhere in the world. The sign on the men's room door says, "Elton John."

On the ladies' room door, "Newton-John."

Oh, well. . . .
