I would advise you do a search for all references to the festival and warn those who have kindly advertised your festival because they value your efforts, even if they can't make it after Sidmouth has worn them out.

Of course, although the Festival is cancelled for this year, we're always pleased to see anyone at Bideford Folk Club at the Joiners Arms on a Thursday night. So, if you're in North Devon, do drop in.

Am so sorry to hear about this, but I suppose it's unavoidable in these hard times. I'd wanted to get to Bideford for several years and had hoped that this year might be possible, but I'll keep my hopes for 2011. Sending positive thoughts to Hilary & Jerry and all the Bideford team!

I'm sorry to be informing people that Bideford Folk Festival has been cancelled for 2010.
I gather that the main problem has been with funding. For a while the committee intended to run a downsized, shorter festival in August but they've eventually decided to cancel it completely. Instead all their efforts are going into getting everything in place ready for 2011.
I for one will really miss it this summer - and I'm sure plenty of other people will too.
