THE OLD OAK CONCERTS 2010
THIS MONTH! – FEBRUARY 10th – 8pm at: The Old Oak Inn, 176 Main Street, Horsley Woodhouse, Derbyshire DE7 6AW:
SARA GREY & KIERON MEANS!

Sara is arguably the most valid and experienced of all the US old timey singers/musicians/storytellers/entertainers ever to emerge from the across that big pond with a music & singing family history to kill for!. She is an expert on the traditional songs and music of New Hampshire and well beyond, is a world class exponent on the frailing banjo and will have you in stitches with her wry tales of 'down home' delivered in authentic dialect!

Kieron is her son and a real chip off the old block but by no means a carbon copy. He has a style and delivery all of his own which is exciting, refreshing and original yet entirely complimentary to his mother's music making. In their genre, I can tell you, it doesn't come any better than this – miss them at your peril!

Entry:- £10.00 (£9.00 if reserved in advance) with concessions at £7.50 – proof required please.

They are on top form and gave us a cracking night at Bury St Edmunds last Friday - don't miss if within range!

Those of you who have come to one of our concerts will know not only how good the atmosphere and the beer at the Old Oak is, but some of you will also have tried the locally produced Three Cats Cider. I haven't tried it myself, but I've been told that it's very good.

Although Sara's birthday was now nearly 2 weeks' ago, I'm sure that everywhere that she and Kieron are performing on this tour will be making a fuss of her in some way, and we'll be no exception.

Sylvia
