Merlin's Keep the legendary North Lincolnshire Folk - Rock combo have pulled out all the stops and got together a charity CD suppoting UNICEF in Haiti.

It contains 19 tracks donated by folk, acoustic and other artists including a number of Mudcatters.

There is a minimum donation of £5 and details of where to order it from can be accessed in this link.

Please support if you can.

CD features:

Helian Keys, Rob Lowdon, SNAK, Bob Wright, Val Marshal, Old Hands, Tuff and Rumble, Circus Envy, Rachel Plotnek, The Cox Brothers, Phil Crowder, Joe Solo, The Finest Hour, John Hardy, Wendy Arrowsmith, Chris Gell, Merlin's Keep, Frank Johnson and Nimming Ned.

Some really good stuff on it.

I can't believe everyone has ignored this thread and think it is more important to discuss what songs you shouldn't sing in a folk club..... bizarre!

Not had chance to listen to my copy yet..
Am looking forward to a good mix of music.

I will try to find out other places the cd is being sold. The more places the CD is available, the better. I haven't collected mine yet but looking forward to hearing it.

Me too... and come on Folkies... £5 for a charity CD seems reasonable, especially for the talent that's on it!!!!!!! Go on! You know you want to!!!!!!!

Rockhen,

When you say      "I will try to find out other places the cd is being sold"      does that mean that you have some for sale?

If so, I'll have one. Will you be at the Tap on Tuesday?

Maybe The Villain could be persuaded to sell some at Faldingworth Live?

What do you reckon?

No he can't Paul. I only do UK based charities. I leave world disasters to the the big boys and charities such as Oxfam, Unicef Redcross etc. I am sure most people have already donated to those charities.

Sorry

Doug, I've got some (pm me) or if you follow the link you'll find The Merlin's Keep email address and you can get one from Tracey.

Anyone going to the KFFC Winter Warmer Weekend will be able to get one there as well.

If you don't particularly want this CD, its also possible to donate directly to the Oxfam or Red Cross Haiti appeals or any number of others - as I'm sure many of us have done.

Will leave it to MK to bring some CDs to the Tap, then as it sounds as though that would be easier, Doug.

Pinched this from a different thread seems another good idea
There is also the direct method of donating as mentioned above and I have heard that paypal operate a similar service.

"I can't believe everyone has ignored this thread and think it is more important to discuss what songs you shouldn't sing in a folk club..... bizarre!"
Banjman

I think it may just be down to an honest misunderstanding.
I initially assumed from the title that the thread was about the OTHER Haiti charity CD. Perhaps others made the same assumption and just weren't interested in discussing Simon Cowell.

I can vouch that Simon Cowell has had no imput into the above CD :-)

You mean this ISN'T Simon Cowell's one !

(to be perfectly honest, I didn't even know that S.C. was involved in a Haiti Charity CD)

Hmmm wonder if Dougie was sorted two ladies offering to give him one.

No Tim, I'm still C.D.less. It was a top class night with loads of people there, but no-one from Merlin's Keep.

Aw that's a pain, Doug! I couldn't get last night and had assumed that someone from MK was going there with CDs from what was said earlier, here.
I haven't managed to buy one myself yet, but when I do, I will try to get hold of some extras and carry them about to other music events, for anyone who would like to buy one.
