Subject: RE: Announce-Grant Baynham Stockport 8th Feb From: Murray MacLeod Date: 05 Feb 10 - 07:32 PM Don't miss this gig if you live anywhere near Stockport. (sadly, I don't ...) Grant is undeniably one of the finest guitar players I have ever heard, but he's not one of these "head up my arse, see how clever I am" guitarists, his guitar playing just delights and brings joy to everybody who hears him (as well as eliciting gasps of incredulity from other guitarists) . And is he ever funny ! His songs are pure comic genius, and he also has a rapier-like wit on stage, as any would-be hecklers soon find out to their cost. Not to be missed. |
Subject: Announce-Grant Baynham Stockport 8th Feb From: Peter Stockport Date: 05 Feb 10 - 03:28 PM Monday 8th Feb Grant Baynham will be appearing at The Midway Folk Club Stockport Start 8.30 more info here Midway Folk Club Grant Baynham- "One of the top ten acoustic guitarists in the UK. Grant is an amazing guitarist, they don't come any better. He 's a guitarists guitar player, a man dedicated to his craft and it shows with every riff, every roll, every carefully planned and executed ...'off the cuff' musical ad lib. A delight to watch and listen to. He also writes superbly crafted songs, they are humorous, clever and full of insight into the human condition, any human condition. Whether he deals with the innocent first longings of childhood or the conversion of the Bishop from communion wine to beer" |
