Jim Causley, that is...

I've just listened to the BEST Folk Show I've heard in YEARS down here on BBC Radio Devon.

I thought he was good last week, but THIS week!? Well, he was just OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

There was a Singing Blacksmith, whom Jim interviewed...and another chappie who also sang songs, whose name I can't recall, but he was lovely, not only his singing but all that he had to say...

Ella Edmondon, Eliza Carthy, Kate Rusby, Show of Hands (Twice!, including AIG) Jackie Oates..and Seth Lakeman too! :0)   The list is endless, and Sparkling!

I can't find the show on here yet, but I'm hoping it'll be on Listen Again soon...'cos if not I'll have to raise the roof with Radio Devon..

Bums, it posted too soon....

Ella Edmondson, with an 's', of course...

Anyway, I just wanted to say that Jim most definitely has the 'it' factor, or is that the 'X' factor....? Whatever, Jimjimjimmyjimjim has IT. :0)

So, come on BBC, let's get rid of Chris Evans, and put Jim Causley in his place and watch Radio 2 take off bigtime!

And could some of you Ol'Grouch's please put that suggestion on the BBC board for me, as you've made damn sure that I can't.....

Oh..and Jim and his guest were talking about the Dartmoor Folk Festival and the village where it takes place....Lovely to listen to...and of course, it brought back memories of Jim dancing down that aisle with those Lassies on his arm a few years back when I was there......

WELL DONE, JIM!! :0)

(took me an age to find this, don't know *who* wrote it, some 'number' apparently...

Nice show but SoH bloomin' hands! Is Natural Selection the worst song ever written? It's enough to make you religious!

I have to agree. It was bloody awful in my opinion too..Hey, that's the first time I've EVER said that about a SoH song...but no doubt Phil will love me for it. ;0)

He played AIG as well though, so the Brownie Points went back up again....and he played some damn cracking songs!

I think Jim should run the Folk World....

Oh..and WHO was that person playing the squeezy whatsit on Jackie's track? Methinks it was a Smiley Lad with his Scarlet Marilyn Monrose
Sexy Squeezy Thing!

You see, Chris Evans doesn't get talked about like this... :0)

Lizzie. I thought you were going to start a radio show of your own? Now as I remember this was so artists you felt were neglected by people could get airplay. You said quite clearly how there was such a need.

I personally made some suggestions as to how you might go about this. I offered you the experience of 2.5 years of broadcasting live to Britain's fourth largest city for two hours per week.

Did you say thank you Dave? Well, no you didn't actually. But I would like to have seen you go ahead and do it.

But you didn't. What a shame.
