Just to let you know that Duet International is progressing well.
This is a follow up to Anglo and English Internationals that have been very well received Worldwide. I had originally thought that we would not get to three CDs on this collection as we had with the other two ,but with the help of many we are receiving many excellent recordings for this project and it appears to be on course for another 3CD set. This once again will feature a selection of the Worlds best players and archives from around the World.
This has been the most difficult of the three systems to locate the players of the instrument, but we are very pleased with the progress and the recordings we have received.
We hope to release this collection towards the end of spring.
As soon as it is finalised I will update you with the final line up, which will not disappoint you.
These Internationals are not just for concertina anoraks, but feature a full range of music, which is both entertaining and interesting.
I know because I have listened to hours of it.

English International is excellent: well worth listening to as a collection of music, quite apart from its 'survey of the music played on EC' aspect. A monumental undertaking which has bourne spectacular fruit.

I am still marvelling at the first track The Heywood (Manchester)Concertina Band with the wonderful James Eastwood as soloist recorded in 1935 it sounds as fresh as if it was recorded yesterday. Cleaned up by Jim Ward in Crawley, this 78 sets up the whole collection.

I started these projects on the 15th Nov 2004
So it works out just under two years per collection. Approx 120 artists
including archives and hundreds of hours listening to recordings.
The response has been worth the work involved.

The latest news on this project is that it is expected to be released in June. It has been delayed a bit due to illness and other problems with a few artists.
Just to recap this is a collection of Duet players only. We hope to demonstrate the versatility of the instrument ,as we did with Anglo and English, by presenting different styles of playing and music from Duet players Worldwide and with some rare archive recordings of old masters ,to enhance the overall development of the instrument.
I will post the full line up of players when we have finalised the collection.
Thanks to all for artists suggestions and help tracing some of the players.

I was lucky enough to see a provisional list of artists, and it's a mighty long list!
If Al hasn't covered every notable Duet player since recording started, chances are it's because he hasn't tracked any down!!
This should really kick start interest in Duet concertinas (Which will mean that mine go up in value...Jolly Good!!!)
Can't wait to hear the finished article.
PS I think the two previous triple CD's regarding English and Anglo tinas are still available.

Well Jon is on the list and has agreed to do some recordings for us ,but no recordings yet. Graham is having a word with him this Weekend.

Don't know of any recordings of Jon solo, but if he's ever passing down the M1 near Watford. I'd be happy to do it.
How long would it take?
