I just thought that "Cropredy" might not mean much to our American & Canadian catters.   In short, Cropredy = the annual Fairport Convention gathering & festival.

I have just been on the phone to a very chuffed Paula Tindall, who called to tell me that they just found out: the Tindalls are opening the Friday concert at this year's Cropredy!

What can I say – it could not happen to a better set of people, and I know they will go down a storm.

I guess I'll have to book them now for the next album, before their rates go up! First Miranda Sykes takes up with Show of Hands, then Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer get plaudits on Mike Harding's show, now the Tindalls are set for fame and fortune... I'm losing collaborators left right and centre...

Seriously, I am ever so chuffed for the whole family, as I know you will be. The girls apparently have gone AWOL somewhere into the village screaming at high pitch! Who can blame them? it's all a long way from getting up to do a floorspot at Ride-A-Cock-Horse folk club in Banbury, just 5 or so years ago... but what a ride, eh?

There'll be drinking at the Round House in Greatworth tonight… And I'll have one for them too.
