Subject: NPR: Wainright's Poole, Freedom Singers From: Desert Dancer Date: 12 Feb 10 - 11:03 AM Yesterday NPR did that thing where you can't get on with doing what you meant to do because you have to stay by the radio... On Talk of the Nation, Bernice Johnson Reagon and Toshi Reagon were on and the conversation was about the "creation, impact and influence of music during the civil rights movement." Some of the stories from the folks who called in to the show were quite powerful. Listen On Fresh Air, Loudon Wainright III discussed his Grammy-award winning "High Wide and Handsome: The Charlie Poole Project". Listen ~ Becky in Tucson |
