HANNAH JAMES AND SAM SWEENEY are the guests at the Music Institute club in Guildford this Friday, 19th February 2010.

Hannah and Sam, who were recent nominees for the 2010 BBC Radio 2 Horizon award for best newcomers folk act, met in 2002 and have been playing together in English folk group Kerfuffle since then.

More recently they have each become known for their work with Bellowhead, The Demon Barbers Roadshow, Jon Boden & The Remnant
Kings and The Fay Hield Trio . In 2009 they embarked on a new project as a duo, and their debut album,Catches And Glees, containing a fine selection of traditional songs, and dance tunes,was released in the same year
Admission £9.00 - Discount cardholders £8.00

Tickets can be ordered online via the Music Institute folk club website or can be bought on the door on the night.

(Please note that music starts promptly at 8pm)

Seen them several times and they are extremely good. You get all the virtuoso playing on fiddle and accordion, together with some great singing and, of course, probably one of the best clog dancers in the country. Well worth a trip out to see them.
