I've always thought "Opera Hooligans" would be a fine name; of course, we would feature neither opera nor hooliganism, but that's what advertising is for (disguising what you get with clever words).

If it had my musical partner Jon (who's not very tall) in it, I'd call it "Long John and the Underthings."

On the other hand, if it was an all-women band, I'd definitely go for "The Monstrous Regiment."

The band I occasionally play with is looking for a new name. Serious suggestions only please. Bear in mind we are a Scottish band performing some traditional songs, but mainly our own material. Four vocalists, so plenty of harmonies for those who like that sort of thing. :)

A band I was in that never got off the ground had two opposing ideas for names. I wanted to go for a cod-Russian soul feel with "The Lakov Commitments", while some others thought "The Fabulous Trousers" was a good name (no accounting and all that).

My girlfriend suggested a compromise "The Lakov Trousers".

In New York there is a rock band called "Son of Sam I Am".
