Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: MikeL2 Date: 28 Mar 10 - 02:14 PM Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: GUEST,DonMeixner - PM Date: 28 Mar 10 - 01:50 PM < "We swapped songs and Jameson's(Better than Bushmill's) for a couple hours." > Sounds like it was agreat night. But speaking of Jamesons & Bushmills - I always though that Bushmills was far superior to Jamesons. But recently my son pointed out that I was drinking only Jameson's "cooking" whiskey but the Bushmills I drink is 12 year old single malt. He said it was an unfair comparison. Just before Christmas he went over to Ireland on business and he brought me back a comparative bottle of Jamesons 12 year old Whiskey. So one night we decided to test the two "scientifically" to see which was better. After drinking the lot between us we finally came to the conclusion that we couldn't remember....so we will have to do it all over again....lol cheers MikeL2 |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: GUEST,DonMeixner Date: 28 Mar 10 - 01:50 PM Kendall, One of my top five Old Songs experiences has been the night we sat in your landyacht and you and Jacqui hosted Adventure, I think it was, Jeri I believe, and Cindy and I. We swapped songs and Jameson's(Better than Bushmill's) for a couple hours. Don |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: GUEST,kendall Date: 28 Mar 10 - 11:55 AM Don't feel bad, I was never good enough for them either. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: Midchuck Date: 28 Mar 10 - 08:27 AM Kendall, you want a job as our agent? 10% on our gigs in a given year would probably give you the price of a fifth of whiskey every other month... On the other hand, if you couldn't get the Old Songs people to let you, of all people, participate in Utah's memorial, you certainly wouldn't have much luck getting them to hire us, I'm afraid. It appears to be kind of a closed circle. Peter |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: kendall Date: 28 Mar 10 - 05:22 AM Cathy Barton and Dave Para are worth the price of admission. I love her banjo picking. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: GUEST,kendall Date: 27 Mar 10 - 08:47 AM Old Songs is just not the same without Woodchuck's Revenge. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: Midchuck Date: 27 Mar 10 - 08:16 AM Afraid we won't make it again this year. We have a conflict, which takes us in just the opposite direction. (Scroll down). Very nice conflict, though. If you live in or near the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, or upstate NH, and the Albany area is too far, we'd love to see you. Peter |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: Susan of DT Date: 27 Mar 10 - 06:28 AM CAMSCO will be there in our usual place (or I assume they will give us the same place). Stop by and say hello. Brian - there are usually 20 or 30 mudcatters there, many wearing mudcat tee shirts and/or buttons for easy recognition. Of course I will come to your Child Ballad presentation. See you soon (Brian is doing a house concert at our house Monday before NEFFA) |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: GUEST,DonMeixner Date: 27 Mar 10 - 12:54 AM Cindy and I'll be in the usual place Kendall. There is always an open chair unless Jeri is in it. And a gin and tonic with watermelon that will have your name on it. Don |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: GUEST,Vicki Kelsey Date: 21 Feb 10 - 03:03 PM Kendall (and Jacqui), please come. We love you. |

Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: kendall Date: 21 Feb 10 - 06:25 AM We may show up, time will tell. I was pretty fragile the last time I was there just having lost my dear friend, Utah, etc. and there are folks on the bill that I always enjoy. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: GUEST,DonMeixner Date: 21 Feb 10 - 01:29 AM Hang out with us Kendall. Gin and Tonics, good conversation, Jacqui can pick out her next five birthday presents. Remember we don't take plastic. Don |

Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: GUEST,DonMeixner Date: 19 Feb 10 - 12:25 AM Hi Jeri, Cindy and I are looking forward to it. Don |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: Susan A-R Date: 18 Feb 10 - 09:37 PM Sounds like a nice line up. Lots of friends in that list. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: Anglo Date: 18 Feb 10 - 06:11 PM OK, we still perform as a duo whenever we get the opportunity. Jeri has the right of it. Tony has a particular project that he'll be doing at Old Songs, in conjunction with Keith Murphy and Becky Tracy. I'm sure Tony and I will do workshops together. John |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: Jeri Date: 18 Feb 10 - 06:05 PM I think John & Tony will probably sing together at some point. John's been doing solo gigs for a while and Tony probably has things he does on his own. They haven't been routinely performing as a duo for a while. I don't think the separate listing means anything. John typically also MC's an evening concert. Peter, I'll give you $10 if you can manage. (Don, G & T's. G on me and T on you. Actually both things, IN us!) |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: C. Ham Date: 18 Feb 10 - 12:39 PM The list is alphabetical so that is why John and Tony are separated I would think. I would have thought that too except for the fact that other duos like Cathy Barton & Dave Parra and Sally Rogers & Howie Bursen are listed together. |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: Midchuck Date: 17 Feb 10 - 10:05 PM They're still advertising "Roger the Jester," but when you get there they won't let anyone do it. Fraud.... Peter |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: maeve Date: 17 Feb 10 - 09:43 PM John and Tony certainly do still perform together. I suspect karen k. has the right of it. maeve |
Subject: RE: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: karen k Date: 17 Feb 10 - 09:40 PM The list is alphabetical so that is why John and Tony are separated I would think. |

Subject: Old Songs Performer List is posted From: DonMeixner Date: 17 Feb 10 - 01:59 PM Looks like a good show once again with a few Mudcatters on the stage. Google Old Songs Music Festival. Don |
