Subject: RE: LYR/TAB ADD: You Don't Know Me From: Peter T. Date: 03 Aug 99 - 11:29 AM Wyowoman, Take a D7 chord, and add (with your pinkie, I guess) the third string up from the bottom at the third fret. You can finger it another way, sort of like an inverted Dm chord (index finger on second string, first fret, second finger on first string, second fret, and ring or pinkie on third string, third fret. If you want to do this song (I spent a lot of time this weekend figuring it out -- love this song, and never played it before!), I am sorry that the spacing for the TABs doesn't work too well. The initial G is held for most of the line. It works nicely if you move your pinkie up from the bottom G on the first string, third fret, to the second string, third fret, sometime before you shift to the G7 at the end, and do the same in the C to C7, it smooths it all out. You can do this with the Em as well. There is also a really nice chord after the Gmaj7 (which I just play holding down the first string at the second fret) which I don't have a label for, but it is the third string (up from the bottom) at the first fret, and the first string at the second fret. When I find out what it is, I will stick it in. It is one of those 50's chord progressions you just wallow in. Yours, Peter T. |

Subject: RE: LYR/TAB ADD: You Don't Know Me From: Peter T. Date: 03 Aug 99 - 12:44 PM As hinted at in the Mudcat Tavern thread, if you haven't had the pleasure, Emmylou Harris' version on "Cowgirl's Prayer" is just about definitive -- clean, simple guitars, great voice. yours, Peter T. |
