Thank You very much for responses folks.
Dylan uses 12 string lots and drop D tuning. s. Im now learning about Capo,s and indeed I find it interesting.

I dont mind Capos but Drop D tuning I cant get me head around and it makes a guitar sound so easy which it is not both in sound and body?
but each to there own?
Kindest regards Pierre.

Melissa is so right...The best key for you is the key that's best for your singing...which might be a completely different key than the best key for me.

I listened to one that sounded like D and another that seemed to be in A (but still didn't find one with a 12string)

I think the 'best' key would be the one you can sing comfortably.

Having a 12 string guitar I seriously think there are some songs out there where a 12 string guitar is essential for that song.
The Eagles use a lot of 12 string
Where a full bodied sound can be achieved?

Dylan does this number John Brown both on 6 and 12 a String. See utube?
What key should I play "John Brown and what fret does the Capo go on re 12 string?
Kind regards to all Pierre.
