Subject: RE: req/ADD: Leaving Lismore From: GUEST,Barley Bree Date: 10 Mar 10 - 06:37 AM Thankyou for the interest in "Barley Bree" and asking if there was a connection with the Sweeneys however we are a Band based in the North of Scotland ( We used to be in the Whisky business hence the name). We got together in 1985 and only recently (Google etc ) have we discovered that there are several other "Barley Brees" throughout the world. We generally play a mixture of Scottish Ceilidh,Country, and Folk music for Functions, Parties, Weddings etc, in Village Halls, Hotels , Clubs and Pubs in our local area - - (Inverness to Moscow!) Kindest regards John Ross www.cromalbank.com |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Leaving Lismore From: Rowan Date: 08 Mar 10 - 10:29 PM From a bit of correspondence I had with Joe Offer, some time ago, I formed the impression that us mortals could, for an individual post to a thread, change the "Subject:" heading to read "Lyr. Add:" and this would have the effect of giving joeclones/collators/collectors a 'heads up' that the material could or would be eventually collected into the DT. I never confirmed this impression with him so cannot vouch for its validity but you might send him a PM about it. Cheers, Rowan |
Subject: ADD: Leaving Lismore From: maeve Date: 08 Mar 10 - 10:17 PM LEAVING LISMORE Tears fill my eyes as swift the boat flies And speeds me away so far from your shore As quiet you sleep in dreams that are sweet My dear island home Lismore. Dawning would bring the lilt and the ring Of laughter at milking; music galore And high on the wing the mavis would sing Oh joy be with you, Lismore Gone are the days along the green braes Gone the warm hearts behind every door Now sadly I gaze, but ever I'll praise The isle of my heart Lismore. As sung by Kenneth McKellar Lismor Recordings ******************************** I hope this is helpful. I don't know if this is something the DT needs or not. Should I make a Lyric Add. thread? maeve |
