Can someone provide the lyrics for the song "Romany Love". The words were written by Arthur Lamb in 1922, to music written (apparently earlier) by John Stepan Zamecnik. I've found instrumental recordings of it by the Paul Whiteman Orchestra and Ben Selvin's Orchestra ( http://www.dismuke.org/how/prev2-07.html ), but so far no sung version, nor even a first line.

There is a different song called "Romany Love Song". Searching is complicated by the fact that there is also a 1931 movie called "Romany Love" and a 1933 novel titled "Romany Love Song".

This information comes from the catalog of Brigham Young University Library (via WorldCat):

ROMANY LOVE
Words by Arthur J. Lamb. Music by J. S. Zamecnik.
Cleveland: Sam Fox Pub. Co., 1922.

First line of verse: The gypsy camp is at rest, the moon is high in the west.

First line of chorus: Romany love, Romany love, my heart's afire all for you. Nestle close with your wondrous charms, rest in my loving arms...

There happens to be a copy of the sheet music available on eBay

Thanks for those snippets of the lyrics. But I don't think it would be worth forking out the dough for the sheet music. If no one can provide the lyrics, I'll just wait--someday a scan may turn up in some online repository.

Romany Love sheet music scan!

Romany Love    Words Arthur J. Lamb   Music J.S. Zamecnik

The gypsy camp is at rest,
The moon is high in the West.
The voice of love is softly calling;
In your dear eyes I can see
Sweet dreams of love's mystery,
You fill my heart with melody

The stars grow pale in the sky,
'Tis time to kiss you goodby,
The breezes sigh because I leave you;
But when one more day is through,
I'll still be longing for you,
Until my golden dream comes true.

Chorus: Romany Love, Romany Love,
       My heart's afire all for you.
       Nestle close with your wondrous charmes,
       Rest in my loving arms.
       For the light of your smile,
       Makes life worthwhile,
       Always for you I pine.
       Romany Love, I want you,
       Romany Love, be mine.
