Subject: RE: nice site for Irish and similar tunes From: Bill D Date: 16 Mar 10 - 02:29 PM Well, as I read it, it's all his own work, and presumably some of it could be done better, but basic tunes and lists are useful. If nothing else, a person could take some needed files and edit/improve them. |
Subject: RE: nice site for Irish and similar tunes From: Will Fly Date: 16 Mar 10 - 02:23 PM It's new to me too. I thought some of it was a bit of a dog's breakfast, to be honest, but it would be shame to see it go, I suppose. I wonder how much of the Irish stuff is covered by TheSession. |
Subject: nice site for Irish and similar tunes From: Bill D Date: 16 Mar 10 - 01:58 PM Just ran onto this.. http://www.oldmusicproject.com/...it's new to me, though some may have seen it, as it has been up for several years. It has many, many tunes in ABC, MIDI, PDF and Noteworthy formats, including O'Carolan and madrigals, as well as fiddle tunes. The only problem is, he says it may disappear this Summer because of costs. It is a wonderful resource, and he is seeking ideas and/or funding.... |
