Thanks for letting us in on this song, Dean. I like the lyrics and enjoyed seeing some other aspects of your (many) talents. It's wonderful that you and Judy are such a great team!

Dan, hate to tell you brother, but you're definitely thinking of someone else doing the vocal stuff. Those mudcat people who were at Apple Hollow got to hear my wife sing two that are on the site, "Mickey" and "Filthy River Charlie". I mainly just introduced the songs, and I might have along with the whole crowd on the choruses. That's the only time anyone from the 'cat could have heard my voice at all. I'm a bonafide non-performer. I write 'em, and I'm blessed with a better half who can sing them for me. I did sing the repeated sing-along line for "Twelve Bar", which is so dead simple I can approximate the tune, but I can't even hold the last line of that right, so I left it to her.    Dean

And Dean, wasn't it you that did the version of "Blue Mountain" also? or am I getting confused with another catter? (not Art, someone else did it and I think it was you"

Thanks for posting. I clicked on the link, and I like your song. (It took me a little while to get the joke.)

Funny thing - the Kansas City area has 2,000,000 people, but there are no bars in the Yellow Pages and only 8 places under 'Taverns.' Yet I assure you there are plenty of places to drink.

I wonder what they are calling themselves now.

"you both have wonderful voices !! "
Bless your little pea pickin heart, Dan (remember who was known for saying that?) but that is the oddest compliment I can remember getting, being as you can't have heard me sing, and I can't. Don't know if you've heard Kat sing. Were you thinking semi-literally, as in voices of artistic expression? : )

That's pretty funny. I'd like to hear the tune w/out it being a midi, but you've certainly got the *hook* going with those lyrics.

I got lost in your website. LOVE your photos and artwork...really neat and fun...I like the different perspectives you "eye" things through.:-)

Thanks,

kat

My wife and I gave this it's world premier at the Flint Folk Music Society last night. We just did it "Acapulco", being as neither of us is an instrumentalist. We did it with singalong on the repeat lines, and it went over pretty well. The midi is what I could do with Noteworthy; if anyone can make a computer generated track sound like Bobert playing blues, it ain't me, Babe. I would love to hear what someone with actual blues chops could do with this, though.

Anyhow, for what it's worth: Twelve Bar Blues
